Parent Code of Conduct

Hello SCYH Families,

As we are moving into our second full month of games I wanted to take a minute to ask each of you review the Parent Code of Conduct that ALL PARENTS were required to sign at the start of the season.  It has been brought to my attention that parents on several teams are currently in violation of the Code.

Please remember to be a good role model and a good hockey parent.  Behavior that violates the USA Hockey &/or SCYH Code of Conduct will not be tolerated.

Please try to remember the referees are human and make mistakes.  Excessively yelling at the officials seems to only make the calls get worse and embarrasses the players and coaches.

If there is an issue with parent(s) from an opposing team a report should be made to the rink manager on duty IMMEDIATELY.  If there is an issue in the stands, the police should be called by the rink manager, please do not try to handle these situations on your own.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,
John Martino

STAR of the week feature...

Dear Team Parents:

PLEASE share with your families this FB link (also on Whitie’s Website) where Southern Pee Wee A Goalie Billy Brady is featured as Whitie’s “Star of the Week” and ask them – if on FB – to “Like” the link, as well as Whitie’s FB page … to support the Stars and Whities and area youth hockey!

We will be asked to nominate our players again … so please keep track of worthy players … for ANY reason!  We only need to provide a pic in uniform and a brief blurb about why they deserve to be “Star of the Week.”

This is a great opportunity to highlight our kids and we appreciate Whitie’s expanding their program – which used to only include West Haven players – to reach out to all our “Metro West Haven” youth hockey programs.

Thanks!
Cara Berry
